I was captivated by a twisted, moss-covered branch set against the steep, tree-clad slope of Happy Valley. The scene felt quietly meditative — a palette of dark, muted tones punctuated by a scatter of bright yellow leaves and the silvery threads of Old Man’s Beard. Though photographed in early December, these elements still clung to life, holding on just before the full arrival of winter.
